Peel by Erbium Laser

Extremely gentle but very effective treatment that evaporates only the very superficial epidermis, making it perfect for over-the-weekend recovery. This laser was designed for correction of spot imperfections, and can be combined with many other treatments we offer.

Expect: mild sunburn sensation for one to two hours after treatment; rapid skin peeling for 1-2 days followed by pinkish fragile skin appearance over next few days.

Recovery time: 2-7 days

Anesthetic:

• No need for topical anesthetic for treatments done on lower energy levels
• Topical anesthetic must be applied an hour before treatment, for treatments on higher energy settings

What are the side effects?
In most laser peels, the effect is well controlled and recovery proceeds smoothly. Possible adverse reactions include scarring, infection, skin redness and dryness. However, when a skilled and qualified physician performs this procedure on an appropriate patient, side effects are extremely infrequent.

While it is still available, we have stopped recommending this treatment as Fractional CO2 technology has proven to be the superior modality for most patients' treatment needs.
