treatments for Spider Veins
When it comes to treatment to spider veins on your legs, there are two options for you to choose from at IVSI.
In our clinic, treatment to spider veins is usually done in stages. We always recommend to start with session to leg with most spiders, during which most prominent spider vein clusters are treated. This is usually done by injections with low concentration of FDA approved sclerosant, afterwards average patient usually should expect 40 -60% of imperfections to be corrected. After healing takes place second session is scheduled 6-8 weeks later. This touch up session is done either with use of laser or more injections.
Is sclerotherapy or laser right for you?
- Sclerotherapy injections and laser treatment to spider veins are both save and effective when done by trained and careful hands.
- Each method has its own advantages and disadvantages.
- None, should be done without prior diagnostic testing
What is the most important step in a treatment of spider veins?
In order to avoid frustration and assure lasting results, possibility of underlying venous insufficiency has to be excluded.
If you have throbbing pains, dull aches in your leg, swelling of ankles, family history of varicose veins, or spider veins on your inner ankle areas, chances are your spider veins are a result of venous insufficiency.
