Jozef Tryzno, MD is the founder and medical director of International Vein & Skin Institute (IVSI) in Park Ridge, Illinois. His practice focuses on the evaluation and treatment of varicose veins, chronic venous insufficiency, and a broad range of medical and surgical dermatologic conditions, including in-office surgical and laser procedures.

Dr. Tryzno has been in private medical practice since 1998. During the early years of his practice, his clinical work rapidly evolved away from general family medicine and became concentrated on medical dermatology, skin surgery, medical laser procedures, and venous disease. These areas have defined his practice for more than two decades.

MEDICAL TRAINING & PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

Dr. Tryzno earned his medical degree from the Medical Academy in Białystok, Poland, where his postgraduate medical training included Internal Medicine.

After relocating to the United States, he completed a Family Medicine residency at St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. This broad medical background continues to influence the way he approaches dermatologic and venous disease today.

During the early years of private practice, his clinical work became concentrated on medical dermatology, skin surgery, medical laser procedures, and venous disease. These fields allowed him to combine medical diagnosis with something that has remained central to his practice throughout his career — hands-on procedural treatment.

CLINICAL EXPERIENCE & MEDICAL LASER TECHNOLOGY

Dr. Tryzno opened his private medical practice in 1998, when office-based medical laser technology was far less common than it is today. From the beginning, he incorporated laser systems into the treatment of dermatologic conditions and progressively expanded their use in skin surgery and other medical and cosmetic skin procedures.

His practice developed around several complementary areas:

• Evaluation and treatment of varicose veins and chronic venous insufficiency
• Medical dermatology
• In-office skin surgery and dermatologic procedures
• Laser-assisted skin surgery
• Medical laser treatment of vascular, pigmented, and other selected skin conditions

This early involvement with medical laser technology developed into decades of unique hands-on experience.

EXPERIENCE IN MINIMALLY INVASIVE VEIN TREATMENT

Dr. Tryzno began treating venous disease during an important period in the transition from traditional vein surgery to modern office-based, minimally invasive treatment.

Dr. Tryzno was among the pioneers of minimally invasive endovenous treatment in the Chicago area. He began using VNUS radiofrequency closure following its introduction in the United States and subsequently incorporated endovenous laser ablation (EVLA) during the early development of laser-based treatment for saphenous vein reflux.

His current work in venous medicine includes personally performing and interpreting venous Duplex ultrasound examinations, treatment planning, endovenous ablation, ultrasound-guided procedures, ambulatory phlebectomy, and follow-up evaluation.

This combination of diagnostic ultrasound and procedural experience allows Dr. Tryzno to personally and thoroughly evaluate the venous disease, develop the treatment plan, and perform the appropriate procedures.
