JOZEF TRYZNO, MD, RVT, DABVLM

VEIN DISEASE • SKIN SURGERY • LASER PROCEDURES

Jozef Tryzno, MD is the founder and medical director of International Vein & Skin Institute (IVSI) in Park Ridge, Illinois. His practice focuses on the evaluation and treatment of varicose veins, chronic venous insufficiency, and a broad range of medical and surgical dermatologic conditions, including in-office surgical and laser-based procedures.

With more than 25 years of clinical experience, Dr. Tryzno has developed a procedural practice centered on conditions that benefit from careful evaluation and hands-on treatment.

MEDICAL TRAINING & PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

Dr. Tryzno earned his medical degree from the Medical Academy in Białystok, Poland, where he also completed advanced training in Internal Medicine — a discipline emphasizing comprehensive medical evaluation and long-term patient care.

After relocating to the United States, he completed a Family Medicine residency at St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. This training provided broad experience in diagnostic medicine as well as procedural care.

Early in his practice, Dr. Tryzno transitioned from general primary care to a clinical focus on venous disease, medical dermatology, dermatologic surgery, and laser-assisted procedures, reflecting both his professional interests and patient needs.

CLINICAL EXPERIENCE & PRACTICE DEVELOPMENT

Dr. Tryzno opened his private medical practice in March 1998, at a time when in-office laser technology was still uncommon. From the beginning, he embraced innovation, integrating multiple laser systems into everyday clinical use. His practice developed to center on:

  • Evaluation and treatment of varicose veins and venous insufficiency
  • In-office skin surgery and dermatologic procedures
  • Laser-assisted treatments for skin lesions and select cosmetic concerns
  • Evidence-based clinical dermatology

He was among the first physicians in the United States to perform VNUS Closure procedures for varicose veins shortly after FDA approval in 1999 and later pioneered the use of endovenous laser ablation (EVLA) for minimally invasive vein treatment — helping shape modern procedural standards for venous care.

This commitment to procedural skill, technology adoption, and thoughtful patient care has been a hallmark of his career since IVSI’s founding.

CERTIFICATIONS & PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATIONS

Dr. Tryzno holds multiple professional credentials reflecting his training and areas of practice, including:

  • Diplomate, American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine

  • Diplomate, American Board of Family Medicine

  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), ARDMS

He is also a Fellow of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery and holds memberships in professional organizations including the American Venous Forum and the Society for Vascular Ultrasound.

CLINICAL APPROACH

Dr. Tryzno’s approach blends deep clinical knowledge with hands-on procedural skill. For more than two decades, he has focused on conditions that benefit from precise evaluation and targeted intervention — including venous reflux and varicose veins, medical dermatologic conditions of the skin, hair, and nails, and skin lesions requiring surgical or laser-assisted care.

Rather than adopting a high-volume, generalist model, Dr. Tryzno offers condition-focused care, emphasizing clear communication, individualized treatment planning, and evidence-based decision-making. He personally performs the evaluations and procedures central to patient care, providing continuity and depth of experience.
