This page is for patients seeking evaluation and treatment of:
- General dermatologic concerns
- Chronic or inflammatory skin conditions
- Acne and acne-related disorders
- Facial redness, flushing, or rosacea concerns
- Suspicious or changing skin lesions
- Skin cancer evaluation and treatment
EVALUATION-FIRST APPROACH
Dermatologic concerns vary in presentation, severity, and clinical significance.
Each condition is evaluated individually, and management is determined
based on examination findings, diagnostic needs, and patient-specific
factors. Patients frequently seek dermatologic evaluation for persistent
rashes, itching, facial redness, or skin changes that do not improve with
over-the-counter treatments.
Possible recommendations following evaluation may include:
- Observation and monitoring
- Medical therapy (topical or systemic)
- Diagnostic biopsy
- Procedural or surgical treatment when indicated
- Long-term disease management and follow-up
When treatment is not indicated, this is discussed clearly. Medical judgment and patient safety guide all recommendations.
SKIN CONDITIONS COMMONLY EVALUATED AND TREATED
Based on clinical findings, evaluation and treatment may include:
- Acne and acne-related conditions
- Rosacea and facial redness, including flushing and visible blood vessels
- Eczema and dermatitis (atopic, contact, irritant)
- Psoriasis and other inflammatory dermatoses
- Chronic or recurrent rashes, itching, or unexplained skin irritation
- Persistent itching or unexplained skin irritation
- Warts (common, plantar, viral)
- Skin infections (bacterial, fungal, viral)
- Pigmentary disorders including melasma and age spots
- Seborrheic keratoses and benign skin growths
- Suspicious moles or skin cancer screening
- Hair loss and hair thinning disorders
- Nail disorders including fungal infection or nail changes
Medical and cosmetic considerations are addressed as part of the evaluation.
ACNE AND ACNE-RELATED CONDITIONS
Acne is evaluated as a medical condition, with management based on acne type, severity, scarring risk, and prior treatment response. Both inflammatory and treatment-resistant acne are assessed as part of comprehensive dermatologic care.
Additional detail regarding acne treatment options is available on the dedicated Acne Vulgaris & Cystic Acne page.
FACIAL REDNESS AND ROSACEA
Persistent facial redness may occur due to rosacea, vascular skin changes, inflammation, or other dermatologic conditions. Evaluation focuses on identifying contributing factors and determining whether medical therapy, skin care modification, or vascular laser treatment may be appropriate.
Additional information about vascular laser treatment for redness reduction is available on the Facial Redness Laser Treatment page.
SKIN TREATMENT OPTIONS AFTER DERMATOLOGIC EVALUATION
When treatment is indicated, options may include:
- Medical therapy (topical or systemic)
- Diagnostic biopsy (shave, punch, or excisional)
- In-office procedural treatment
- Surgical treatment, including excision of lesions when medically or clinically appropriate
- Medical-grade Class IV laser procedures, selected based on diagnosis and clinical appropriateness
- Long-term management plans for chronic conditions
Procedural and surgical care is performed in-house, allowing continuity of evaluation, treatment, and follow-up.
Treatment decisions are based on clinical findings and individualized patient assessment.
