MEET DR. JOZEF TRYZNO, MD, RVT, DABVLM

Vein Specialist • Skin Surgery & Laser Treatment

Dr. Jozef Tryzno is the founder and medical director of International Vein & Skin Institute (IVSI), a clinic in Park Ridge, Illinois focused on the diagnosis and treatment of varicose veins, chronic venous insufficiency, skin conditions, and in-office surgical and laser procedures. With more than 25 years of dedicated clinical experience, Dr. Tryzno has developed a highly focused practice centered on procedural care and individualized treatment planning.

MEDICAL TRAINING & PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

Dr. Tryzno earned his medical degree from the Medical Academy in Białystok, Poland, where he also completed advanced training in Internal Medicine — a foundational discipline that emphasizes comprehensive medical evaluation and care.

After relocating to the United States, he completed a Family Medicine residency at St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, providing him with broad clinical training in both medical evaluation and procedural care.

Rather than practicing general primary care long-term, Dr. Tryzno’s clinical focus evolved rapidly toward skin conditions, surgical dermatologic procedures, venous disease, and advanced laser therapies, reflecting his interests and the needs of his patients.

CLINICAL EXPERIENCE & EVOLUTION OF PRACTICE

Dr. Tryzno opened his private medical practice in March 1998, at a time when in-office laser technology was still uncommon. From the beginning, he embraced innovation, integrating multiple laser systems into everyday clinical use. Over the years, his practice evolved to center on:

  • Evaluation and treatment of varicose veins and venous insufficiency

  • In-office skin surgery and dermatologic procedures

  • Laser-assisted treatments for skin lesions and select cosmetic concerns

  • Evidence-based clinical dermatology

He was among the first physicians in the United States to perform VNUS Closure procedures for varicose veins shortly after FDA approval in 1999 and later pioneered the use of endovenous laser ablation (EVLA) for minimally invasive vein treatment — helping shape modern procedural standards for venous care.

This commitment to procedural skill, technology adoption, and thoughtful patient care has been a hallmark of his career since IVSI’s founding.

BOARD CERTIFICATIONS & CREDENTIALS

Dr. Tryzno holds multiple professional credentials reflecting his training and focused areas of practice:

  • Diplomate of the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine — a certification based on rigorous standards for expertise in venous disease care and management.

  • Diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine — denoting residency-level training in comprehensive medical care.

  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) credential from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers — recognizing expertise in vascular ultrasound and diagnostic imaging.

In recognition of his long-term commitment to laser medicine and surgical techniques, he has also been named a Fellow of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery and holds memberships in professional societies such as the American Venous Forum and the Society for Vascular Ultrasound.

PATIENT-FOCUSED CARE PHILOSOPHY

Dr. Tryzno’s approach blends deep clinical knowledge with hands-on procedural skill. For more than two decades, he has focused on conditions that benefit from precise evaluation and targeted intervention — from venous reflux and varicose veins to skin lesions requiring surgical or laser-assisted care.

Rather than adopting a high-volume, generalist model, Dr. Tryzno offers condition-focused care, emphasizing clear communication, individualized treatment plans, and evidence-based decision-making. Many patients appreciate that he personally performs the evaluations and procedures central to their care, providing continuity and depth of experience.
