Dr. Jozef Tryzno is the founder and medical director of International Vein & Skin Institute and a nationally recognized physician specializing in varicose vein treatment, chronic venous insufficiency, dermatologic surgery, and laser-based skin procedures. With more than 25 years of clinical experience, Dr. Tryzno is known for his exceptional procedural skills, precision, and early adoption of advanced medical technologies.
Education and Medical Training
Dr. Tryzno earned his medical degree from the Medical Academy in Białystok, Poland, where he also completed specialized training in Internal Medicine. He later completed his Family Practice residency at St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, providing him with a strong foundation in comprehensive patient care.
Experience in Vein Care and Laser Dermatology
In March 1998, Dr. Tryzno opened his private medical practice at a time when in-office laser technology was still uncommon. From the beginning, he embraced innovation and became one of the earliest physicians to integrate multiple laser systems into daily clinical practice. Within a few years, his practice evolved to focus exclusively on medical and surgical dermatology, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of varicose veins and venous insufficiency.
Dr. Tryzno was among the first physicians in the United States to perform VNUS Closure procedures for varicose veins shortly after FDA approval in 1999. He later pioneered the use of endovenous laser ablation (EVLT), helping establish modern standards for minimally invasive vein treatment. He was also the first physician within the Polish medical community to introduce advanced laser technologies in dermatology.
Board Certifications and Professional Credentials
Dr. Tryzno is a Diplomate of the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine and the American Board of Family Medicine. He holds the Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) credential from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers and has been recognized repeatedly for his expertise in venous ultrasound and procedural medicine. He is a member of American Venous Forum, Society for Vascular Ultrasound. In recognition of his long-term commitment to laser-based medicine and skin procedures, he has been named a Fellow of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.
