Varicose veins, Spider Veins? Dr Jozef Tryzno, is one of the very few physicians in Illinois Certified by American Board of Phlebology and Registered Vascular Technologist

Phlebology is a medical discipline dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of all aspects of varicose veins in lower extremities from cosmetic spider veins to complicated stasis ulcers.

It has to be said clearly that the varicose veins can neither be underestimated, nor they can be treated as a cosmetic defect.

They can cause an illness with serious consequences and can change the life of a patient even if they develop very slowly or gradually or they can be hardly seen.

No varicose vein, after it has already developed, will go away by itself. However, if we will apply systematic treatment to them, further changes can be prevented.

The earlier the treatment of varicose veins starts the better. Today there are two methods of treating varicose veins.

The first is a non-invasive method, the so-called conservative method, for example wearing specially designed pressure pantyhose.

The second one is a "corrective" method such as EVLT, an ambulatory phlebectomy or ultrasound guided sclerotherapy. In many cases, combinations of all of these methods are used.

Legs   To become an ABPh diplomate, an applicant must complete the requisite training or experience qualifications, meet the continuing medical education requisites, and pass a stringent certification examination.

Certification periods are ten years and maintenance is dependent on the ability of the diplomate to display competency in four areas of assessment: evidence of professional standing, evidence of commitment to lifelong-learning and periodic self-assessment, evidence of cognitive expertise, evaluation of performance in practice.

Dr Tryzno's certification with the ABPh is a direct reflection of his skill, knowledge, and experience in providing quality patient care, and his continued commitment to the advancement of vein care.

Currently there are only twenty five (30) ABPh diplomates  in Illinois and 477 diplomates nationwide.
