  • Do your work/daily duties require prolonged periods of standing?
  • Do your work/daily duties require prolonged periods of sitting?
  • Does it affect your daily activities, employment status, difficulty with employment?
  • Does it have influence on the quality of your life, hobbies, or choice of clothing?

If you have answered "no" to every single question most likely you do not have to worry about venous insufficiency.
However if you feel that "yes" is the answer to at least 2 of the above questions (1-4) you should consider scheduling appointment for detail evaluation.

In many circumstances your symptoms might be a result of multiple origins and that is why it is crucial to establish proper diagnosis and develop a comprehensive treatment plan.

The last question you still need to ask yourself now is:

6. Who will decide which veins need to be treated, your varicose vein doctor or his/hers technician?

We are so used to non-personalized hospital care that it does not occur to us that at some clinics technicians tell doctors if patient does or does not need treatment.

We strongly believe that initial vein evaluation should be personally done by your treating physician.

Ultrasound skills and proper ultrasound certifications are the basic and most crucial requirement for all physicians who want to call themselves Phlebologist. After all your doctor will be the one who guides the needle or catheter into your vein.
